Core is a game action and published by A&F Software Ltd.. Originally released in United Kingdom in 1986. Currently you can download and play the game for Commodore 64 Amstrad CPC.

The asteroids have been colonized and are protected in the Federation. An evil contingent of aliens has decided to wipe out the humans. Unable to find out why this has happened, the Federation sends Mr. Andrew Angello to gather information about the attacks. One of these asteroids, EROC 1, has just suffered such an attack. A faint signal is still being heard, which means that the mainframe is still functioning. Mr. Angello needs to find the bio-memory chips so he can study the attack plan and the alien weaponry to save other asteroids in the future.

The player plays Mr. Andrew Angello and has to traverse the caves beneath the asteroid's surface over four levels. Although the aliens have left, they have left traps and if he touches them they take the energy from his backpack. When the energy runs out, Andrew will suffocate. Energy can be replenished by finding batteries. Several pieces of equipment have to be found and for this you have to find a shovel to be able to dig in the ground.

Core is an on-screen side view game. The joystick moves you around, while pressing down allows you to pick up objects or dig with the shovel. In addition to the main game area, you can see an information bar, as well as directions you can go, time, backpack energy and icons that allow you to save the game.
