Timothy is an edutainment-adventure game that tells the story of a human-looking creature named Timothy, who lives a happy life with his best friend, the butterfly Basil, on an unnamed island. However, one day, the evil Prince (called Skarboniusz in the Polish version) captures Basil. Timothy decides to rescue his friend, but the evil prince's kingdom is only marked on a magic map that has been divided into several pieces left on the island. Timothy has to collect all the pieces from various residents of the island, such as the gardener, the musician, the painter and the fireman.
The game consists of 16 mini-games with 3 difficulty levels. Players can play them directly from the main menu or by navigating through the island in point-and-click mode. Some of the mini-games require keyboard input, while others can only be played with the mouse. The objects visible on the screen between mini-games are interactive and play various animations.
The game aims to teach children to think and solve problems, thus developing their mental skills with various challenges. All game play is done in an artistic way: there are no text descriptions (explanation) of the game mechanics (except for the controls needed to play), as the child will try to learn it by playing over and over again.
